When we first bought this property, the area across from the guesthouse was wooded. We got concerned with 20-45 year old tree being adjacent to our drain field - roots just aren't good for drain fields. So, the forest had to go.
It didn't take much to clear the area, get it grated and have the stumps ground.
We then added about 30 yards of good surface dirt, mixed liberally with fertilizer and hydroseed.
